HOPE HOUSE is a transitional and educational center providing a safe home for adolescent girls between the ages of 10-14 and offering services until the age of 18.
As a result of their home environments, these girls are vulnerable to defilement, molestation, unplanned pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases. The girls come from homes in the slums where there is only one parent, usually a mother with many children, living in deplorable conditions. The fathers are absent and do not provide for the needs or protection of their families.
Since some parents/caretakers work at night or travel to the villages to acquire commodities for survival, the girls are often unsupervised and are preyed on by the men in the slums, local bars and discos, and adult entertainment areas located in the slums.
While keeping them safe, HOPE HOUSE also addresses the matters of:
1) Educational welfare: tutoring, vocational training and educational supplies
2) Emotional welfare: individual and group counseling services
3) Spiritual welfare: sharing God’s love and discipling them in their personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
4) Physical welfare: medical care
To become a HOPE HOUSE sponsor, please choose the Child Sponsorship-New fund designation and begin a recurring gift of $80 or more per month or $960+ annually. ($80 covers the following: rent, utilities, food, chicken feed, charcoal for cooking, school supplies, vocational training supplies, books for the library etc.)
We occasionally have special projects and funding requests. If any special project becomes fully funded, we will apply your gift to where it is most needed.
