Our Vision
Individuals discipled and empowered in their current relational, economic, and geographic context to actively and creatively engage their community for the purpose of transformation in the name of Jesus Christ
Our Mission
We exist to make disciples and empower them for transformation in the name of Jesus Christ.
The focus of this transformation is on three planes: Spiritual Transformation; Economic Transformation; and Social Transformation.
Spiritual Transformation
LUZIRA COMMUNITY CHURCH
TAM is a church based ministry. Luzira Community Church serves as the heart and base from which the other two planes are birthed and get their life. In all that we do, we want the people on the outside to see the church and not any other entity separate from the church. The church infuses its life through all that we do as it is infused with the life of Christ and hence providing the spiritual base and guidance for the rest of the ministry. Transformation begins, first, in the hearts of individuals before any society or community can change. Only God can change the heart. Therefore the church is pivotal to any kind of transformation that could happen, as it is God’s plan that men’s hearts be transformed. It is our conviction that all men need Christ before they need anything else. Therefore establishing a strong church is our first priority before we undertake any other endeavours. In September 2010, Alex Mutagubya became the senior pastor of Luzira Community Church, the base ministry of Transform African Ministries, Uganda.
Economic transformation
We want to establish a leadership and entrepreneurship centre, alongside the church. Our aim in this is to bring together novice and experienced entrepreneurs and take them through a process of discipleship and mentoring as we help to develop them into mature Christian leaders in secular settings where they will be witnesses for God, and yet also have the capability to create jobs within their area of passion or training.
Social transformation
Spiritual and economic transformation, should lead to social transformation. We recognize that we are surrounded by so much poverty and need. We want to be able to leverage the skills, resources and access of our target group to collaboratively identify and provide practical answers to our community’s felt needs. We are to be relevant to the community in which God has situated us as we bear witness to the kingdom reign of Christ that is and is yet to come.
