The City Leadership institute seeks to craft solutions to the leadership challenges that face our nation, continent and the world.
This Leadership course at the City Leadership Institute runs for a duration of twelve months starting in January and ending in December. Lectures are conducted on a
designated Saturday once every month in an intensive and interactive learning environment.
Our learning approach includes both traditional learning methods like lectures, discussions, assignments as well as experiential learning where students will be asked to
perform tasks or get into learning environments outside of their comfort zones so as to wholesomely grow into the kind of leaders that we need; doers, and not just
people equipped with head knowledge.
We launched out on the January 21st, 2023 and we have 18 students taking on the course.
We are not only influencing individuals from the City Churches but also members of some of the other churches we partner with that is; Pearl Haven Christian Center
Mbale and Ggaba Community Church.
This program has brought together people from various walks of life who are seeking to lead in their different lines of work ranging from business, politics, education, all
the way to the church setting. [Note: The City Leadership Institute is not the same as the Fit for Life program whose focus is developing entrepreneurs]
“The City Leadership Institute can be challenging as it pushes you to think and work beyond your usual capacity in terms of money and the monthly and yearlong
assignments. It has taught me to adjust my schedule to accommodate the long hours of reading. This course is a good challenge and I am growing in regards to
leadership and problem solving,” says Brenda Najjuma Kisaame, a student at the institute.
“I've learnt how to save money better than before. Taking this course has helped me acquire team building skills, leading people, and maintaining family relationships. I've
learnt how to be an exemplary leader to the closest people to me as well as influencing my community. This leadership course is very educative, practical, and offers
good exposure,” says Julius Oboth, a student at the City Leadership Institute.
